The solution eliminated reportable workplace incidents & injuries in their hydraulic line connection/disconnection process and achieved zero leakage/environmental impact.

When a conversion process is mandatory, it can only be improved by increasing efficiency. We helped our paper mill customer’s transition from their existing hard plumbed lines connected with JIC hose ends and adaptors multi-coupling plates and VEP series for leak-free connection and efficiency. They have saved an estimated 60-70 man hours/mo. since implementing the quick disconnects and streamlining conversion.

When a contractor requested an exact replacement for their worn, leaking threaded poppet couplers, we started asking questions to discover the true source of the problem. Turns out, the couplers were the issue themselves, with the potential to leak from the outset, not just resulting from wear. New leak-free connections resulted in a complete reduction of environmental impact and an increase in productivity.

When we engaged in a process analysis, we identified key areas of improvement preventing our customer from achieving their SMED (single-minute exchange of dies) objective. Switching from their standard single push-to-connect manual couplers to multi-coupling plates for their hydraulic and water coolant lines allowed them to produce parts quicker, easily switch dies between runs, and improve safety and clean-up times.
